Fair Photo's

Another weekend of fairs come and gone. whew!

Here's part of my table at Dunbar this Saturday:

I was happy to see that my neighbour was "trashbags"! Jaymie makes these super-awesome zippered bags out of used candy/coffee/noodle/etc. bags!

She had hoards of people at her table all day long. I should have taken a photo at the start of the day!

One of my favourites:

On Sunday I was out at "St. Thomas More", and this year traded with my fellow crafter friend Dawn of "Revamp Vintage".

Isn't her packaging FABULOUS!!

The earrings I got were on one of these cat cards - cool eh?!

Happy Artist

This is me! lol - well the Happy Artist part is...

This altered Rummikub tile will be turned into a key chain or necklace for this weekend's fairs.

Finally got the two "12 days of Christmas" swaps out in the mail! It took me ALL DAY to organize these and get them all packaged up and out the door!

This batch is for "The Canadian Chickies" group:

This batch is for the "Dozen Days of Xmas" group. They look the same, except for this group I was number one, and so all the packages have the partridge in a pear tree tag on them.

Weekend Fairs

Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday I'll be out in North Vancouver at the Delbrook craft fair! I love this fair, and have been really looking forward to it!

All my price tags are looking a little shaggy.....shaggy in the wrong way, not my "purposely shaggy" way - so I've started to make some fresh, new ones.
Here's the newest addition to my table. I know, I know......I'm in danger of becoming the crazy crow lady!!
Plan on heading down to Circle Craft? Drop by my friend Pamela's booth to check out her wares (say "Hi" for me!).

She does beautiful, beautiful work:

This GIANT globe is hanging in the the new Trade and Convention Centre's lobby. My son is going to love this when he sees it!

Christmas Swaps, Auctions, and Preparations.

This year, I'm participating in two "12 Days of Christmas" swaps! Here's a sampling of my packages waiting to be filled and sent out. The insides prezzies are a secret for now! 12 artists are assigned a day, make 12 presents, mail them out to the other 11 participants, then for the 12 days leading up to Christmas we all get to open one gift a day!

My daughter's preschool hosts a Christmas Auction every year, and this year I made some cookie and brownie mixes in jars.

One batch just wouldn't fit into the jar, no matter how much squishing was done.....so we enjoyed a batch of cookies for ourselves!

Here's the other part of my auction donation. A little sampling of "this n' that" (necklaces, key chain, brooches, magnets...)

Here's my secret packages for the swag bags that are given out at "Got Craft?". You'll have to be there early to get one of the coveted swag bags!

So of course I'm running WAY, WAY behind with all my preparations for the Christmas markets......and then I add the "One of a Kind" show to the list! Crazy. I'm just making as much as I can...(which is why I've been so absent online these days!)

Last weekend "the girls" went to the Emily Carr student art sale, and my 4 year old came home with this:

October Prize Winner:

I've been "missing" for a week, and November 1st came and went without me drawing the October giveaway winner! Here it is, out of 11 names entered, number 2 was the magic winner: Cindy! I'll post a new November giveaway tomorrow, even though it will be a week late!

Here's some of the things that we've been up to this week:

Some outdoor play. Can you believe that I just cut off about 6 inches of her hair?!

The regular Saturday soccer:

Finished off these custom pieces for my Mother In Law. The one on the left is a photo of her mother, and the two on the right is of her and her husband (in the 80's).

Saturday was my first craft fair of the season, out at St. Thomas Aquinas. It was the day after daylight savings and I was tired at the end of the day! I better get used to it - I just committed to doing the One of a Kind Show.....if I think 10am to 4pm is tiring, 4 days of 10am to 9pm is really going to do me in. (ha! who am I kidding - I thrive on that kind of busyness!)

I've been buying these teeny-tiny sugar mandarin's for my kids' snacks. Look at how perfect this little gem is! They're only the size of a walnut.....so cute.

Snapshots of Halloween 2010

The big day has come and gone *poof* just like that! We have so much candy in our house, it's ridiculous - we need some help eating it!

See the pink glitter dots around my daughters eyes? (just like one of her mermaid barbies). I thought I was the "clever crafty" genius, by adding pink craft glitter to clear body glitter gel. It looked GREAT, but when it came time to wash it off, we found out that the pink colour from the craft glitter had seeped into her pores, and no amount of scrubbing, or vaseline, or eye make-up remover could remove the pink stained dots on her face! There's still traces now, and it's been 3 days!

Here's some party decorations at a little friend's Halloween party:
A ghoulish band was playing on the porch of this house along the "Parade of Lost Souls" route:
One of my favourite pumpkins from last night:

At the end of the night, there was a big neighbourhood fireworks party. It all started off with some sparklers for the kids:
The "works" lined up:
These dads killed me. They were looking at each other saying "you've done this before right?"...."no, I thought you've done it"..."No, I have no idea what I'm doing"....."Neither do I".....
